I just thought I'd add in that my hand doesn't bleed when i bite it, i don't try to kill myself, but i do have the emo aura...i was being sarcastic to helena when i said "IF I BITE MY HAND UNTIL IT PRACTICALLY BLEEDS, WOULD YOU COUNT THAT AS EMO??" because clearly, helena could see that my hand was not bleeding, there were only deep pressure marks from where i bit my hand...I know that may sound confusing what i just said, but i just have an odd way of going about things and explaining them... so...yeah...*sigh*...I just bite my hand to get myself to calm down and not go off even more on people...pain makes me quiet for some reason...*thinks about erasing that last sentence*...

Helena's just one of those people who like to test others' patience...unfortunately, she's preppy and i have no patience whatsoever with preps...they're ditsy..*likes the word ditsy*...i tend to use the word "ditsy" a lot..*sigh*...if you mean "dits" by acting like a dumb-blonde, how would you say that in japanese?

Re:can somebody please translate this for me? 4 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 5
thanks a lot gaaragaara (is this 我愛羅x2?).

> oh well = maa ii ka
I agree with you. There're some variants:

  • まぁいいか maa iika

  • ま、いいか ma, iika

  • まぁ、いっか maa, ikka

  • ま、いっか ma, ikka

The differences are so subtle that it's difficult to say. Nevertheless the general rule is ま、is lighter than まあ or まぁ and いっか is lighter than いいか. (I'm afraid you don't understand what "light" indicates)

> Me: *gives Helena a death glare*...oh jeez...how many times do i have to repeat myelf, HELENA!

I can think of nothing more suits for this situation than "いい加減にしてよ (iikagen_ni shite_yo)" or "いい加減にしろよ (iikagen_ni shiro_yo)" for oh jeez. The latter is slightly more boyish and uh, dirty or aggressive.

When you hear this expression you can understand the speaker strongly want someone to stop some action. I guess "STOP DOING IT!!" can be also be replaced with "iikagen ni shiro yo!!".

Sometimes おい or ちょっと is placed before and an exclamation mark is placed after:

<examples>

  • おい、いい加減にしろよ!

  • ちょっと、いい加減にしてよ!

> Tempest: *looks down*...oh jeez, Brittany...

I'm not sure of his (her? I cannot distinguish) intension but perhaps "まぁまぁ (maa maa)" or "おいおい (oi oi)" is for this oh jeez.

> about biting
Yeah I noticed it was just a sarcastic expression. I do no think it's odd to let the pain to calm your mind down. Isn't it quite universal?

> dits
Hmm... I'm not so sure but perhaps "頭(が)弱い atama (ga) yowai" has the same of meaning. The usage is as follows:

<if you're a female>
あんたちょっと頭弱いんじゃないの?
anta chotto atama yowai_n ja nai no?

<if you're a male>
お前ちょっと頭弱いんじゃないの?
omae chotto atama yowai_n ja nai no?

Aren't you a little ditsy, are you?

Note this expression is quite aggressive and should not be used unless you are ready to fight the opponent.

hope this helps (but I hope you don't need to use the dirty words)

Re:can somebody please translate this for me? 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
thanks!...nobody at my chool knows japanese, so...I'm in luck, and Tempest is a "she"...I thought you might want to know that...

*off topic*
This morning I got back from Washington D.C., suprisingly i slept most of the way back because my friend, Tyler's DS died and we couldn't pictochat...that made me sad because i needed to ask something...oh well...guess i'll have to wait until next time, if he doesn't say something again (otr one of his friends)...I think one of his friends were posing as him, and they said something...jeez...he has some weird friends.
HAHA when we went to the mall and they (Tyler's friends, not tyler, he was taking the pictures) were outside of Victoria's Secret taking pictures beside the models...they got yelled at by the clerk lady...haha, I pointed and laughed, and also patted them on the back and said a sarcastic "congratulations on that steven" (one of Tyler's friends, he was saying something about how much fun that was)(tempest and I were looking for Byron, who was inside Victorias secret helping our friend taylor pick out a bikini...that was funny, he didn't want to go in there, but taylor made him anyways)
oh yeah, they were also taking pictures of random girls' buts...i told them off...heh heh...Tyler just said, "yes mommy" oh jeez...D.C. was hilarious, drgging Byron through Claires and Icing so I could find earrings and bracelets...(no, I am not a shop aholic, I just wanted a few more earrings and bracelets)
I ended up with like one adorable black and white crystal bracelet and 9 pairs of black white and silver earrings (all together, not of each color) and three manga books (i gave one to tempest for an early birthday present) all for about $47...wow...the chaperones also gave us some money to get something to eat, which i didn't eat much so i had more money
I arrived there with $52 and came back with $29.98...I'm good, huh?

I typed a lot...

*back to topic*
Suprisingly, I knew that maa ii ka means oh well, i looked that up speecifically because I knew that I'd want to say that sometime...so, you think that I should go with iikagen ni shite yo?

Hi,

Seems you're really enjoying your school life.

Well, if it's intolerable anymore, it's okay to use it. Of course she wouldn't understand what you say though...

Other than maa ii ka (maa ikka), several expressions I guess useful are,

tonikaku, (とにかく、) = anyway,
tokorode, (ところで、) = by the way,
yare yare... (やれやれ……) = *sigh* (or like)
