I took a semester of Japanese back in 2006 and I LOVED it. I've tried since then to keep writing hiragana and practicing the basics. I didn't have much time before to devote myself to Japanese but now that I'm self-employed, I've decided to start learning it again! This seems like a great place to develop my skill(z).

One small mistake in your typing: in the phrase "konban wa", "wa" is the particle (the same one you use to indicate the topic of a sentence), so it should be spelled は, as you did correctly in the phrase 「わたし は げんき です.」 So it should be 「こんばんは」.
