Shizu-san had a male cat named "Nora", from the phrase "noraneko", meaning "stray cat". Was your cat taken in as a stray? But now that I think about it, my older sister's name is "Laurel", and I had a lot of trouble pronouncing it as a young kid. Anyway, people might confuse it with the English name for females.

"Tiger" in Japanese is "tora", but that has a similar pronunciation problem. "Tiger cub," though, is "koji"-- and there are other words pronounced "koji" meaning "origin" or "tradition", "orphan" or "a lay Buddhist."

"Kitten" is "koneko."

"Yuugi" means "games" or "friendship." (Different kanji, but you don't have to tell anyone that.)

星生さん、こんにちは。

クロちゃんではどうですか?
How about "Kuro-chan"?

"Kuro" means "black", and we often this name to a black cat. We tends to call a cat with "chan" for some reason, but when the cat was bad, we remove "chan" from him/her, lol.

If it's a white cat you can name it Yuki for snow. If it's black it could be Yami for darkness. A good name is also Kusushita meaning socks if the cat has colored paws. Maybe a brown cat can be Kohi for coffee color.
