> for 'Kasa o motanaide dekakemasu'. Why isit 'Mota'? I know you are right because I just took a look at my textbook, but just simply cannot remember why isit 'Mota'.
Hmm, do you ask me "why"? And I can only answer "I don't know", lol. This is nai-form of the verb "motsu". Maybe you mix up this and ta-form "motta", I suppose.
tsu verb - nai-form - ta-form
motsu - motanai - motta
matsu (wait) - matanai - matta
katsu (win) - katanai - katta
Comparing other verb group:
u verb
kau (buy) - kawanai - katta
su verb
hanasu (speak) - hanasanai - hanashita
ku verb
kaku (write) - kakanai - kaita
I hope this helps,
Shizu

Satoo o irete koohii o nomimasu.
Both are natural perfectly.

Yes you are right that I mixed it all up with ta-form (too many vocabulary and forms to memorized lately so I mess everything up). If it is 'motsu' then it should be 'motanai'.

Max-san, konnichi wa.
You probably already know this, but here are the rules for making a plain negative form of a verb:
For an ichidan verb (a verb ending in -ru which drops the -ru when making the -masu form), just add -nai after dropping -ru.
For a godan verb (a verb ending in a syllable other than -ru, or a verb ending in -ru for which ru changes to ri when making the -masu form), add -nai to the stem ending in the "a" vowel sound. This stem is formed as follows:
If the final syllable of the dictionary form is -u, it changes to -wa.
If the final syllable of the dictionary form is a consonant followed by the vowel sound u, change it to that consonant followed by the vowel sound a.
tsu is really tu; the strange spelling is an aid to some speakers of other languages to pronounce it correctly; so it changes to ta.

No wonder that you mixed up more things: me too and so often about some languages, and sometimes get confused even about Japanese, lol, so I often try to check out my grammar notes.
Anyway, good luck!
